Campaigners fear for future of Croydon libraries uncertain after facilities outsourced - SWLondoner - 10/10/13

  1. Great article, highlighting the key issues of hollowing out of library services in Croydon prior to privatisation, the lack of public consultation and the question over Labour's claim that they will rescind any procurement agreement.


    But the associations have been muddled somewhat. What this article does do is set the plight of Croydon libraries in the context of cuts to arts and services, services much needed to drive interest and investment in Croydon.

    I am sorry to have missed the debate on arts in Croydon tonight, due to a prior engagement, but look forward to hearing further.
